Lois Griffin is a character in the animated series Family Guy, housewife, wife of Peter Griffin. She is an American of Jewish descent by nationality. Lois was born in Newport, Rhode Island in the family of wealthy industrialist Carter Pewterschmidt. She was brought up in an atmosphere of indifference of her parents (in the series "Let's Go to the Hop" Lois recalls how her father refused to buy his kidnapped daughter from terrorists because "he does not negotiate with bandits"). After getting married and settling with Peter in the town of Quahog (relatively close to her parents), Lois threw herself into caring for her husband and children. She devotes all her time to homework and correcting those troubles that her husband likes to get into so much.
